Local Community Participation

In Sop Kong 70% of villagers are khamu hill tribe people and the rest are Lao. Most of them are farmers. We would like to contribute to the long term development of Sop Kong village by creating a foundation. It will support the building of facilities, and help create opportunities for better education, healthcare, and sustainable living (eg. prevent deforestation and help doctors reach the village).
What is possible now:
1. We share 5% of the profit from the farmstay and cafe with the community.
2. Volunteers are involved in helping the community by teaching English, sharings skills they have, or ideas for healthier and more sustainable ways of living.
3. Tourists can donate money or any objects that are good for the village and local people such as stationary for students, farming tools etc.
4. At the farm we have a small corner library which mostly books & stationary materials were donated from friends and family we hope it is useful for kids from the village and community people are very welcome to use and read at our place. We also use our place for learning & teaching should be educational center for our community etc…

We’d like to inform and communicate with our visitors that if you are planning to come and stay at the farm, please help by buying a ticket for waterfall admission. The waterfall is just nearby the farm, you would visit the waterfall anyway and the money goes to the village community.
